se7en's title sequence starts with a book's pages being turned, in the background you can vagely see a hand turning the pages but the light blurs it. throughout the sequence there are titles coming up, every word in the titles is a different size, font and slightly moved from the previous. in the next shot you can see a pair of mouldy hands on a piece of paper, the lighting appears to create a shadow of a knife running across the hands. so far every shot used has been unrelated to any others, this makes the audience become confused and wonder what the film is about, all they have to go on is dark undertones. we then see a series of equipment being opened but not for long enough to be able to understand whats in them, although it can be assumed they are parts of a gun. This works to link all the previously unrelated shots together slightly because we can now understand they are all someones plan. This shot was just before the lead actor (Brad Pitt)' name comes up, this could hint that he is the one with the plan or that he is against the plan. we then get shots of someone cutting dead skin off their hand with a razor, this could represent a huge aray or things, the most common representation however is
